EXCLUSIVE: ZEE Radio launch details emerge

BizAsia.co.uk can exclusively reveal details of ZEE Network۪s much anticipated radio project ZEE Radio before its official launch.

ZEE Radio makes its soft launch this Monday (11th February) at 00:00 on DAB digital radio. The broadcast will then simultaneously be broadcast on Spectrum Radio on 558AM between 07:00 and 13:00 daily. The official launch of the station will take place at the ZEE Carnival during the weekend starting Friday 15th February to Sunday 17th February. The ZEE Radio launch announcement will be made on stage by the stars attending on Saturday 16th February. This will also be the day; ZEE Radio breaks away from its test transmission phase to its regular shows.

ZEE Radio will be a Bollywood centric station with an output consisting of 65% Hindi and 35% English. The station۪s strap line has been confirmed as “Dil Se…Bollywood”. An exclusive sneak peak into the schedule also indicates a daily Bollywood news show, which will air during primetime. There will be an early breakfast show and a main breakfast show, along with a drive time slot between 16:00 and 19:00. No surprise that ZEE Network TV shows will get prominent mentions during daytime timebands, which will be specifically targeted to females. ZEE Radio will also run exclusive previews into forthcoming episodes of popular dramas and shows from across the network.

ZEE Radio is launching to change the face of UK Asian radio with listeners being able to connect to the heart of the Indian film industry Mumbai, like they have never been able before.

Earlier this week, Founder of BizAsia.co.uk and Sabras Radio Operations Manager Raj Baddhan, was confirmed as the Station Manager for ZEE Radio. He said, “In this competitive sector, ZEE Radio has set out a clear strategic plan to bring back wholesome family entertainment in an innovative way. We۪re confident about the shows we have put together and we۪re sure our loyal ZEE followers will welcome this new revolution in UK Asian radio.”
