Exclusive: Tony Lit leaves Sony TV UK

After weeks of endless rumours, BizAsia can confirm that Tony Lit will be stepping down from his role as VP Business Head for Europe of Sony TV UK/Europe (Multi Screen Media Asia) operations this month.

Lit joined the company in December 2011. During his tenure at the broadcaster, he has overlooked some big brands on the network. He was also instrumental in the phasing out of VIEWASIA and agreeing the Sky Asia Pack for the Sony TV channels.

Neeraj Arora, Executive Vice President Head of International Business confirmed to BizAsia, “Yes it is correct. It will be a great loss to Sony but we have mutually agreed and I have accepted Tony’s decision.”

It is not known where Lit is planning to move to next but industry speculation is rife that he will rejoin Sunrise Radio to revive his father Avtar Lit’s business. Prior to his work at Sony TV, Tony was Managing Director at Sunrise Radio and was responsible for many integral achievements for Litt Corporation. Meanwhile, Sony TV UK is expected to announce a replacement in due course.

BizAsia contacted Lit for a comment but was still awaiting a response at the time of filing this article.
