India’s leading English news channel, Times Now will launch in the UK on Monday 9th November, BizAsia can exclusively confirm.

As reported previously on BizAsia, Times Now has been gearing up for its UK/Europe launch over the past few months. The channel commenced full video and audio testing last week off the EPG.

Judging by the tests, Times Now UK’s daytime output will consist of a live simulcast with India. However, evening shows, will include repeats of news bulletins and discussion show ‘The News Hour’ with Arnab Goswami’. It will also broadcast Bollywood shows from sister channel, Zoom TV and business news bulletins during the 19:00 – 20:00 timeband. Full video tests can be viewed off the Sky EPG, see tuning details here.

Times Now’s UK launch coincides with the auspicious occasion of Diwali, which incidentally falls on Wednesday next week. Furthermore, the channel will no doubt be bringing viewers coverage from India prime minister, Narendra Modi’s London visit – also next week.

Times Now will launch in the News category on the Sky Digital EPG. It will be available free-to-air on Sky channel 576.
