STAR UK has inked a deal with production house UTV to exclusively promote the forthcoming blockbuster movie Taxi No. 9211 in quite a unique way.
The film, which stars John Abraham and Nana Patekar releases worldwide on Friday 24th February. Leading up to the release of the film the channel has marked up specials to heavily promote the film.
Firstly STAR Plus UK is running a contest to Meet John Abraham, who will be in the country on Tuesday 14th February. STAR viewers are being asked to log on to the STAR UK website and answer a question relating to the movie. Ten winners will then be picked who will get the chance to meet the hunk at a undisclosed venue in London on Wednesday 15th February.
Also to coincide with the release of the movie, STAR Plus will exclusively be showing the Making of Taxi No. 9211, a day after the film’s release, Saturday 25th February at 18:30.
If that wasn۪t enough, STAR News cameras are arriving to the UK to follow John’s short trip here, which will then be stitched together to form a half an hour capsule to air in the news show Khabar Filmi Hai around the film’s release.
STAR India will also be holding the exclusive premiere of the film in Dubai on Monday 20th February.
So all this from STAR but what will they get in return?! Of course the big movie will be shown on STAR Plus worldwide later in the year – six months after its theatrical release.
On a different note, we revealed last year that STAR Plus had bagged the rights to UTV’s other movie Bluffmaster, which will also be shown on the channel sometime this year.
