EXCLUSIVE: SET Max UK to launch “in days”

Biz Asiahas received exclusive information from the Sony Entertainment Television Asia camp about its forthcoming SET Max channel.

SET Max, which is Sony’s sister station and provides round the clock movies and sports is reportedly set to launch “within days” on the Sky platform. The channel has a huge following in India and garnered further interest after winning the satellite rights of cricket featuring arch rivals India vs Pakistan in March.

A launch date is being released next week but tests of the channel on Sky Digital are set to begin in the next few days. SET Max UK will concentrate purely on movies and live concerts competing directly with big guns ZEE Cinema and B4U Movies. Recently Sony Entertainment Television Asia won over movie rights from the Yashraj banner. New films including Veer Zaara, Hum Tum, Dhoom, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai and classics such as Silsila and Kabhi Kabhi will be screened on both channels.
