Indian broadcaster Sahara, which has been in the process of launching two of its channels in the UK has now postponed its plans indefinitely.
Sahara One and its Bollywood movies channel Filmy were set to go live earlier this year before being put back until summer.
The latest on this front is that Sahara has gone cold on the idea of launching in the UK because of complications it does not wish to disclose.
The move has come as quite surprising considering Sahara One has been performing well in India recently. This also explains Sahara One’s decision in selling its repertoire of films to the likes of B4U Movies UK and ZEE Network UK a couple of months ago.
Sahara One and Filmy is still negotiating distribution deals with various UK broadcasters. The delay could mean the channels not launching until next year at the earliest unless an agreement is reached right away.
