A brand new free national newspaper emphasising on light hearted issues and entertainment headlines is hitting news stands this weekend.
Eastern Voice will be a free weekly newspaper offering Asian news and showbiz and will be primarily targeted at the young Asian generation.
The newspaper will cover a mixture of politics, health, entertainment, sport, Bollywood, employment, society and arts. Biz Asia understands that Eastern Voice will become the first Asian newspaper to carry a Page3-like offering called ‘Page Theen’ (page three in English). However, the newspaper will steer away from full frontal female nudity and instead showcase the best looking female models for its Page Theen.
The Eastern Voice is owned by Eastern Media Group who also run the popular and first English-Punjabi newspaper The Sikh Times. With Eastern Voice, the Eastern Media Group plan to tap into the same market as popular quirky paper Desi Xpress and magazines Snoop and Desi.
The first issue of Eastern Voice will be distributed at the National Mela, which takes place in Birmingham at the NEC this weekend.
