EXCLUSIVE: NDTV Imagine new look revealed

As expected, NDTV Imagine’s new look schedule in the UK goes live on Monday (16th February), BizAsia.co.uk has the full details.

Gone will be the countless hours of repeated and re-run shows and in come a slew of brand new dramas, general entertainment and news shows.

The channel, which celebrated a year on air in India last month, will have a whole block of original shows from 19:00 and 22:00 during weekdays, plus new shows in the mornings and afternoons.

Starting at 19:00 will be the network’s Hindi news bulletin from its NDTV India service. Currently only its English news channel NDTV 24×7 broadcasts in the UK. The 30-minute strand will be followed by ‘Main Teri Parchchain Hoon’, which moves from the current 20:30 slot to 19:30.

New dramas ‘Bandini’ and ‘Kitni Mohabbat Hai’ takeover the 20:00 – 21:00 slot during the week. ‘Radhaa Ki Betiyan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi’ will be shifted to 21:00 and ‘Chand Ke Paar Chalo’ will be moved to 21:30.

Another huge change taking place is the move of the channel’s numero uno mythological show ‘Ramayan’, which is being moved from the primetime 21:30 slot to 09:00 weekday mornings. However, followers of the series will still be able to catch a repeat telecast of the morning episode at 22:30 each night.

Other changes in the morning bands will see a new religious series ‘Saibaba’ commencing at 06:00, followed by a news update in Hindi fromNDTV India. The mythological efforts ‘Ramayan’ and new religious show ‘Shani’ will be shown between 09:00 – 10:00 each morning.

Weekends on NDTV Imagine will also be changing with showbiz news and entertainment taking centre stage on the channel.

‘Jasuben Jayantilaal Ki Joint Family’ will air Friday to Sunday at 19:30, which will be followed by Shah Rukh Khan’s produced show ‘Ghar Ki Baat Hai’ at 20:00. On Fridays at 20:30, popular celeb talk show ‘Oye Its Friday’ will air for 60 minutes. On Saturday and Sunday in the same time slot, ‘Raju Hazir Ho’ will screen. Talent show ‘Junoon’ will air Fridays and Saturdays at 21:30.

The channel will also be introducing strands from its recently launched Bollywood showbiz channel simply titled Imagine Showbiz. At 18:30 Friday – Sunday, a programme by the name of ‘Showbiz’ will give viewers a chance to catch up with the latest Bollywood goings on.

Starting this weekend, the channel will telecast movies between 15:00 and 19:00. This week, it has lined up the World TV Premieres of ‘Kismat Konnection’ as well as ‘Race’. It also will be telecasting ‘Jodha Akhbar’ and numerous other new titles.
