Manish Chaudhari corrects Ranbir Kapoor rumours

Yesterday, BizAsia reported that Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’ official fanpage on Facebook had shut down and that too with a very ominous status before it all disappeared. However, in an exclusive interaction, actor Manish Chaudhari, who will be seen in the film, had put right the rumours that have been surrounding the film since which also included a question to the professionalism of lead actor Ranbir Kapoor.

The actor told BizAsia, “Ranbir Kapoor is the definition of dedication and professionalism among the current superstars in Hindi cinema. This is the 2nd time I’ve worked with him and he continues proving this. The entire cast and crew’s equally dedicated and professional”. Chaudhari also worked with Kapoor in ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year’ in 2009.

No doubt this official clarification about the story will come as a welcome surprise to the supporters of the film and cast. It is thought that the fan-page was, in fact, not an official one but created by fans of Kapoor who were a little miffed when those in the know on the sets refused to give them exclusive content for the social networking site.

Chaudhari is playing the role of a newspaper editor in the forthcoming ‘Bombay Velvet’ which is based on a real-life character. Karan Johar, who will be making his debut as a villain in the film, is also playing an editor and the two characters are believed to be playing rivals.

‘Bombay Velvet’ also stars Anushka Sharma and is primarily being shot in Sri Lanka.
