Exclusive: ‘Happy New Year’ cast talk SLAM London 2014

Slam + London(O2 ADDED) FEATURED

Yesterday, on 4th October, BizAsia had the unique opportunity to catch up with the cast of this year’s forthcoming Diwali release, ‘Happy New Year’ as they were in London for the finale of the SLAM Tour which has been creating waves in the US over the last fortnight.

Talking to BizAsia, the actors spoke about how they felt being in the capital for the last leg of the tour. Vivaan Shah expressed his excitement in just one word, “Awesome”.

“Unfortunately, it doesn’t feel like I’m in London right now because we’ve just walked into the hotel and have been here all day. It’s only when you step out, you feel the chill in your bones but otherwise it doesn’t quite feel like I’m in London yet”, said Boman Irani.

Sonu Sood commented, “Really nice. I’ve also had some time for shopping so I’m really feeling like I’m in London.” So it seems Sood has done a little more than Irani has had the chance to do? Irani was quick to reply, “Oh he always does a little bit more than me”.

Abhishek Bachchan talked about his love for London, “It’s wonderful to be here and I’m looking forward to performing at the O2 Arena tomorrow for the audiences of the UK. We’re very excited, it’s a big day. We’ve managed to put together a reasonable show. I don’t want to blow it out of proportion but we’re very happy with the show. I really do hope that the audiences like it as well.”

“I think it’s apt that we are finishing in London and that too at the O2, it’s so iconic,” said Farah Khan, director of ‘Happy New Year’.

Deepika Padukone also spoke of her excitement, “It doesn’t get bigger than this. I’ve heard so much about it. Madonna has performed there, Michael Jackson was going to perform there. It’s great that we’re also going to be performing there”.

SLAM+ The Tour is happening tonight, on 5th October, at the London’s O2 Arena. Stay tuned to BizAsia for all the latest.
