EXCLUSIVE: Alpha Gujarati’s launch confirmed

ZEE Network is celebrating its tenth year of broadcasting in the UK in March and to coincide with that the celebrations are reaching new levels.

The globally popular ZEE Network has confirmed exclusively to Biz Asia that it will be launching its fifth channel Alpha Gujarati on Monday 28th March 2005. Alpha Gujarati will be ZEE’s second regional channel under the Alpha umbrella after the successful launch of Alpha ETC Punjabi a couple of years back.

Alpha Gujarati will become the UK’s first channel to target the huge Gujarati community around the UK. The channel will initially launch on Sky Digital in the UK and then be available in other parts of Europe and other digital platforms.

ZEE is launching the channel in the same weekend as the glittering ZEE Cine Awards, which this year arrive in London. The ZEE Cine Awards are taking place on Saturday 26th March 2004 at the Excel venue in East London. No doubt the pre-launch will be highly publicised at the awards ceremony.
After ten years of broadcasting ZEE’s stance as the leading Asian network remains unscathed. ZEE TV was the UK’s first Asian TV service to launch on analogue satellite.
