INX Network’s presence in the UK is coming to an end with its hybrid music and entertainment channel, 9XM, closing down in the coming weeks.

A spokesman for INX Network confirmed to BizAsia.co.uk that 9XM will be “shutting down in the UK temporarily”, with an aim to return in mid-2010 in a new avatar.

INX Network has begun negotiating the channel’s Sky Digital EPG slot (829) with a number of parties. 9XM will remain on air until beginning of December before being switched to a new unconfirmed channel. 9XM also broadcasts on Freesat channel 513.

In August this year, flagship channel 9X ceased operations, which resulted in programmes from the main service being moved to 9XM. The previous EPG slot from 9X was sold to Islamic channel, Ummah Channel.
