EXCLUSIVE: 9XM returns on Sky in February

One of India’s most watched music channels, 9XM is returning on Sky Digital in February, BizAsia.co.uk can exclusively reveal.

9XM will be available on Sky Digital from mid-February after its UK distribution arm, World Media Connect finalised an EPG slot with Diva+1. The channel is likely to sit at the end of the ‘International’ category of the Sky Digital EPG.

9XM uniqueness is that it has no VJs but instead resorts to animated characters who will read and speak the minds of its youth target audience. The animated characters include Bheegi Billi, Bade Chote and Beetels have one thing in common: they hate their teachers. They will crack jokes throughout and personify various attitudes of the youth.

9XM was previously available on the Sky Digital platform in December 2009 before its EPG slot was sold to Colors. 9XM faced troubled waters in the UK due to its sister channel, 9X closing down and its parent company INX Media changing hands.
