Evelyn Sharma makes successful directorial debut
Talented model turned Bollywood actress Evelyn Sharma has made a successful directorial debut with the music video for British singer Avina Shah’s latest single ‘Playboy’. The colourful video for the catchy song crossed more than a million views on YouTube within days of release and has amassed well over 2 million streams on the Gaana app.
The retro themed video for the hot summer hit, shot in UK and India, has enabled the sexy actress to show off her creative side. She is now looking forward to exploring her writing and directing side further. “I’m so happy to see the great response the video is getting! Avina’s voice and beauty is all it needed! Her immense talent is undeniable and I wish this video would catapult her far ahead in her career and back onto the stage where she belongs. I can’t wait to direct more videos, and maybe one day a feature film too. It’s so fulfilling as a creative person to see your vision become reality. The appreciation we received is like the cherry on top,” said Sharma.
The in demand star found time in a busy schedule to direct the music video and is happy with the response it has received so far. Sharma said, “As an artist I find it extremely satisfying to direct and create and watch my vision come alive. Even though I have a hectic schedule these days with Saaho, Jack & Dil and of course my charity foundation Seams For Dreams, I’m excited to take up more such projects on the side where I can use my experience, craft and influence to help others see their dreams become reality.”
London based singer Shah was full of praise for Evelyn and thinks the video has helped set up the next chapter of her musical journey. Shah has worked with international music producers on a range of songs over the last few years, which will be launching in India in the coming months. Talking about entering the millions league online, she said, “It’s my first video to reach 1 million views and I’m over the moon that people are loving the track! Evelyn has been a great blessing to help me launch in India and the overwhelming response I’m receiving is very heart-warming. I’m glad to see that the song is growing by such leaps every day and I’m really looking forward to working with Evelyn for my future songs. She has great artistic vision and really knows how to bring out the best in me.”
