Eros International is considering plans to launch a Hindi movie channel, according to reports.

Earlier, Eros’ plans to buy out B4U were scrapped due to a breakdown in talks. However, since then, Eros has been mulling over the idea of launching a Hindi movie channel to exploit the syndication revenue model.

Talking to TelevisionPost on how the channel would be different to the clutter of Hindi movie channels in India, Eros International group CEO and MD Jyoti Deshpande said, Our strategy will be different. We will be more aggressive in shortening the window between a theatrical release and the TV premiere of a film. We will then syndicate the movies to other channels. Right now, other channels are earning by syndicating our titles.۝

In 2012, the company teamed up with HBO to launch two new pay channels in India. The services are known as HBO Defined and HBO Hits.
