Ekta Kapoor’s gay ‘Romeo & Juliet’ shelved?

Earlier this year, BizAsia had reported that Ekta Kapoor was working on an adaption of William Shakespeare�۪s ��Romeo and Juliet�۪ with a homosexual twist. ��BizAsia has now heard that ��Romil and Juggal�۪, which would be something never seen before on the Indian screen, may be shelved.

���They have been getting many letters asking them not to go ahead with it.�� They�۪re afraid that it might get embroiled in controversy as same-sex relationships are not accepted widely in India.�� If the rewrite isn�۪t up to the mark, they might shelve the project,�۝ said a source to Hindustan Times.

Though rumours of this Danish Aslam directed film being disapproved by the censor board have been rubbished, it has been confirmed that the script is being reworked.
