With the introduction of the 100 crore club, it seems Bollywood is recently only concerned with how well a film is received at the box office. Salman Khan, in recent years, has been a superstar somewhat in this category. However, his Eid offering of’Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012)has not quite overtaken Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’ (2009) yet.

It has been reported that ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ took a staggering Rs 195 crore in the first three weeks, with business slowing down when ‘Raaz 3’ (2012) was released shortly after. The release of Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Barfi!’ (2012)further hampered the ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ run and it is strugglingto hit the Rs 200 crore mark. In comparison, ‘3 Idiots’ made Rs 202 crore during it’s time at the box office.

Experts had preempted that, due to the grand opening, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ would make it to Rs 200 crore easily but now trade analysts are saying it may well fall short and not get there at all.
