Eastern Eye Asian Business Awards returns

To celebrate the continued achievements of the pioneers and leaders from the Asian business community, Eastern Eye Asian Business Awards will take place on Tuesday 8th May, at The Hilton, Mayfair, London.

Now in its 11th year and internationally renowned as one of the most prolific events of the UK business calendar, the award ceremony will pay homage to the cream of the UK۪s Asian business strengths who, as well as forming an intrinsic part of the nation۪s economy and wealth, also play a substantial role in the country۪s key decision-making processes.

Eastern Eye, Britain’s biggest selling Asian newspaper, will host this prestigious award ceremony, honouring the movers and shakers of the Asian business world and inspiring their predecessors to create new and innovative business paths.

The event coincides with the release of Success Magazine, which highlights some of the success stories as well providing an up-to-date audit of Asian wealth. More than 1,000 VIPs and celebrity guests will be attending this event consisting of a host of Britain۪s richest Asians, such as last year۪s overall winner, Mike Jatania. A pool of A-list mainstream, British Asian and international talent, public figures, MPs and millionaires will also grace the red carpet for the expectant media.

Among an ambience of opulence and grandeur, the evening will commence with a champagne reception, preceding a gourmet meal, enjoyed against a background of world-class dance acts and music talents performing on stage, inspired by India۪s exquisite culture and heritage. Five awards will be announced, covering Young Achiever of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Community Award and the most coveted award, Business of the Year.

This year۪s hosts for the event will be actor Nitin Ganatra and TV presenter Clare Nasir, with previous hosts including Meera Syal, Kabir Bedi and Laila Rouass. Ambassadors and guests of honour who have attended throughout the Eastern Eye Asian Business Awards۪ 11 year history have included HRH The Prince of Wales, HRH Prince Michael of Kent, HRH Princess Royal, The Rt. Gurmeet Khangura, Chairman of Ethnic Media Group, which publishes the Eastern Eye, says: “We are proud to celebrate 11 years of honouring the Asian men and women in the UK business market. They have not only established themselves as important contributors to the nation۪s economy, but their innovation and hard work have further inspired younger entrepreneurs striving to achieve the same levels of success for themselves.”
