Dunya News UK to join BARB in June

The recently launched Pakistani news service, Dunya News will begin reporting in June, BizAsia can confirm.

Dunya News, which launched a free-to-air channel on Sky Digital last week, will report official viewing data from Monday 1st June. It will be interesting to see how the channel will perform in official UK viewing figures. Currently, ARY News dominates the South Asian news sector in the UK with a reach of over 400,000 viewers. Dunya News also faces competition from old rivals like Geo News, Geo Tez, Samaa TV and Indian channels like NDTV 24×7, Aaj Tak, ABP News and News18 India.

Alliance Advertising & Marketing Ltd has been appointed the media agency who will handle sales and marketing for the channel in the UK.

Dunya News is available free-to-air on Sky channel 850.
