Dunya News is celebrating 1200 episodes of its iconic satire show ‘Hasb-e-Haal’.

In a statement, Dunya News said it is an achievement which is yet unmatched by any other Pakistani programme in this genre. The show is hosted by Junaid Saleem, Najia Baig and Sohail Ahmed (aka Azizi).

‘Hasb-e-Haal’ aims to raise the voice of sanity over the apparent apathy in the society. The cast mocks the flagrant disregard for law and an equally blatant lack of incentive from the civil society to change the existing flawed system. The popularity of the show speaks volume about the changing viewing trends and needs of Pakistani public.

Sohail Ahmed commonly recognized by his on screen name Azizi has received countless awards on his exquisite performance of Azizi۪s character, including the Pride of Performance۪ award and Sitara e Imtiaz۪ i.e. Star of Excellence.

The impact of this programme on a common Pakistani goes beyond the normal programmes as it has now become a cult defining satire show of Pakistan; introducing many slangs and catch phrases to Pakistani culture and the Punjabi / Urdu languages.

In addition to Azizi, Sohail Ahmed adopts various other characters in the show including Feeqa, ZVS and policeman SHO. The popular segments of the programme include Hasb e Daak , tasveero pe tabsara and Mukhbariyan etc.

Having attained the peak of appreciation in Pakistan team, ‘Hasb-e-Haal’ now aims to provide same satirical entertainment to its audience in the UK, the programme can be viewed on Dunya News UK Thursday to Sunday at 22:00 (UK).
