Drashti Dhami or Sanaya Irani to play lead in ‘Ishqbaaaz’ after leap?

With the news about Star Plus’ ‘Ishqbaaaz’ continuing to make the headlines, latest reports suggest that the female lead could end up being played by either Drashti Dhami or Sanaya Irani.

The show, which is undergoing a generation leap in the coming days, is expected to see the exit of lead actress, Surbhi Chandna, who plays Anika. While, Nakuul Mehta is set to continue on the show, he is rumoured to be playing the role of Shivaay Singh Oberoi’s son, Shivaansh Singh Oberoi.

Incidentally, Dhami and Irani are good friends, so it will be interesting if any of the two agree on the big part. A source told IWM Buzz, “Talks are happening with Sanaya Irani and Drashti Dhami to play the lead. The makers are looking for a very popular face to play the female lead post its leap.”

Producer Gul Khan refused to comment on the rumours. Clarity about the show’s future is expected next week.
