Doordarshan has called on the public to overhaul its logo that has been in use since 1959.
The current logo, which is shaped as a human eye, is set to get a complete transformation if a successful new look is agreed. Apparently, the network is keen to give the state broadcaster a modern look to coincide with the younger diaspora in India.
The winner of the logo design contest will be awarded Rs. 1 lakh.
Shashi S Vempati, Chief Executive Officer, Prasar Bharati said, “The Doordarshan brand and the logo evokes nostalgia in certain generation of the country. Today, the county’s population largely comprises people below 30 years of age and they don’t share the same memory that the earlier generation has of Doordarshan.”
The design submissions need to be in by 13th August.
