Diwali fever on Asian media this week

With the Hindu festival of lights – Diwali – falling on a Tuesday this year, the Asian TV and radio channels will spread special programming throughout the week.

Below is a guide of what channels across the UK will be broadcasting to celebrate the colourful Diwali happenings.

Sabras Radio
Sabras Radio is broadcasting a special RSL in Leicester on 107.5FM. The station has been branded Diwali FM and has been on air since the beginning of October and ends on Sunday 6th November 2005.

Sunrise Radio
The station is celebrating sixteen years on air on Saturday 5th November and has special Diwali and celebration shows on air from Monday 31st October.

BBC Asian Network
On Tuesday 1st November Diwali will be celebrated across all the Asian Network programmes. There will also be a New Year/Diwali Special on Wednesday 2nd November from 19:30 to 22:00, hosted by Dev Parmar – looking at Diwali in the Diaspora and across the Hindu, Sikh and Jain communities.
