Disney Star snaps up T10 cricket tournaments rights deal for India
Disney Star has acquired the exclusive rights to broadcast all four T10 cricket tournaments in India, including the Zim Afro T10, US Masters T10, Abu Dhabi T10, and the newly launched Lanka T10.
This two-year deal will offer coverage of the fast-paced cricket format in English and regional languages, bringing T10 action to millions of Indian viewers.
Since its inception in Sharjah in 2017, T10 cricket has rapidly expanded its global footprint. The format, developed by T Ten Global under the leadership of Chairman Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk, has completed seven successful seasons in the UAE and grown into a popular phenomenon across Africa, the US, and Asia.
Harry Griffith, Head of Acquisitions & Syndication-Sports at Disney Star, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are delighted to associate with T Ten Global to bring the excitement of T10 cricket to millions of Indian fans. The 2024 T10 season kicks off with the return of the Zim Afro T10 on September 21st, featuring cricket stars like David Warner, Dawid Malan, Yasir Shah, Carlos Brathwaite, James Neesham, and Colin Munro in Harare. The tournament promises a week of high-octane action, with three matches scheduled daily.
Following the Zim Afro T10, the US Masters T10 will take place from November 8th to 19th, featuring cricket legends such as Suresh Raina, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shoaib Malik, Dwayne Bravo, and Harbhajan Singh. The Abu Dhabi T10 will run from November 21st to December 2nd, while the Lanka T10, the newest addition, is scheduled for December 12th to 22nd.
