Disney Star India & Viacom18 merger expected to be complete by early November
The highly anticipated multi-billion-dollar merger between Disney Star India and Viacom18 is set to be completed by early November. According to Economic Times, the merger is expected to officially conclude after securing all necessary regulatory approvals in India.
As part of this major consolidation, Viacom18 will transfer its assets to Star India, resulting in a media entity with over 100 television channels and two streaming platforms. This merger will bring major Indian entertainment brands like Star Plus, Colors, JioCinema, and Disney+ Hotstar under the same corporate umbrella for the first time.
