Disillusioned SRK clarifies Twitter stance

It seems Shah Rukh Khan and controversy go hand in hand at the best of times. Statements made by Khan both on social media and otherwise have been misrepresented many a time. Talking at the Tata Tea press meet (he has recently become brand ambassador) just a little while ago, Khan expressed his disillusionment with micro-blogging site, Twitter.

Mushtaq Shiekh, a film writer, tweeted live from the conference a short time ago quoting Khan talking about his stance on social media, “I miss my people on Twitter. I don’t miss the trolls who wrote shit on that platform…I wrote things on twitter with love. But my words were twisted out of context by some, Which hurt me!…At this moment i don’t have anything to say! When i do…I shall write on Twitter!”

Khan’s last tweet on the site was on 9th January and read, “Sad,i read so much judgements, jingoism, religious intolerance on the net & i use to think, this platform wl change narrowmindedness, but no!” Such is the disappointment felt by Khan that media reports suggest that he is gearing towards having his media manager handle all of his interactions on social media which will, in effect, mean that he will no longer be connecting directly with his fans.
