When news broke that Saif Ali Khan and Parineeti Chopra were going to be seen together in a film, many were excited at the prospect. However, the film was one that Abbas-Mustan were helming and has reportedly been shelved. Dinesh Vijan, on the other hand, is all set to debut as director and had a project which Khan and Chopra ready, but realised the script was too much like Arif Ali’s ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’ (2014).
A source revealed to Mumbai Mirror, “Once Dinesh had completed his script, there was a discussion within the team and everybody pointed out that postinterval, the story was exactly like Arif’s film. Dinesh insisted that he’d give it a ‘different treatment,’ but nobody was impressed”.
Khan is set to start working in Homi Adajania’s next this winter and when asked whether Chopra might end up being his leading lady for that film, he stated, “She is a good actress and I hope to work with her. But it is Homi’s decision”.
