‘Dilwale’ music rights acquired by Sony Music

The music rights of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer ‘Dilwale’ have been acquired by Sony Music.

The Rohit Shetty directorial venture, which will mark the reunion of Bollywood’s evergreen couple, SRK-Kajol after a long gap of five years, is currently being filmed in Bulgaria.

Sony Music in an official statement confirmed the news. “Our first relationship with the iconic couple began with ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ in 1998 to ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ in 2001 then ‘My name is Khan’ in 2010 and now in 2015 with Dilwale, it just gets bigger,” stated Sanujeet Bhujabal, Managing Director Sony Music India.

“We are taking it as a great opportunity as we are uniting with the best in the industry. Having joined hands with Rohit Shetty, Red Chillies and Pritam, we vow to create a musical storm in 2015 too,” he added in the statement.

‘Dilwale’, which is being produced under the big banners of Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainments and Rohit Shetty Productions, will also see Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Boman Irani and Vinod Khanna. In important roles.

The film has been booked Christmas release slot this year as it will hit theaters on 18th December.
