Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ release facing objections over Hania Amir’s involvement
Diljit Dosanjh’s highly anticipated Punjabi entertainer, ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, is facing potential roadblocks ahead of its scheduled theatrical release on 27th June 2025.
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has raised objections over the film’s purported association with Pakistani actress Hania Amir, placing its certification in jeopardy.
FWICE has reportedly submitted an official letter to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), urging them to withhold certification, citing directives from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B). The letter stated: “We call upon CBFC to follow these directions and consider the national interest before issuing certification.”
It further warned that Diljit Dosanjh himself could face a ban if the film is released without providing adequate clarification.

Meanwhile, despite the uncertainty surrounding ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, Diljit Dosanjh’s other film, ‘Detective Sherdil’, remains on track for its OTT release on ZEE5 via OTTplay Premium, scheduled for 20th June.
