Diljit Dosanjh sparks further anger online after latest comments about ‘Sardaar Ji 3’

Efforts to temper the mounting criticism surrounding Diljit Dosanjh’s decision to release ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, which stars Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, appear to have only intensified public outrage.

The film, which is scheduled to release exclusively in international cinemas this week, has drawn significant backlash since the trailer’s debut over the weekend.

Speaking to BBC Asian Network, Dosanjh addressed the controversy, explaining that when filming took place in February, there were no foreseeable issues. He stated, (translated in English) “Afterwards, many things, big things, were no longer in our hands. The producers decided that the film wouldn’t release in India and would instead be launched overseas. They’ve invested heavily, and at the time of shooting, there was no sign of any conflict. So yes, they already anticipate a loss because cutting out one entire market guarantees it.”

Despite the clarification, Dosanjh’s comments have prompted further debate, particularly in light of ongoing political sensitivities.
