Diljit Dosanjh denies film with Akshay-Salman-KJo

Diljit Dosanjh has shut down rumours that he would feature in the forthcoming Salman Khan and Karan Johar production which stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role.

Last month, there were reports that Dosanjh would be joining Kumar for a film, which is apparently based on Battle of Saragarhi and is being co-produced by Johar and Khan, reports Times of India.

The film will be directed by Punjabi film director, Anurag Singh, but will not feature Dosanjh. “Those are wrong reports. I am not doing anything in it. It’s a big film and a big subject. I am not in the film but there is excitement for Anurag. He is an amazing person and I am very happy for him,” he said.

Dosanjh and Singh have collaborated on four Punjabi successful films: ‘Jatt and Juliet’ (2012), ‘Jatt and Juliet 2’ (2013), ‘Disco Singh’ (2014) and ‘Punjab 1984’ (2014). Dosanjh’s name has also been cropped up for a film titled ‘Kaneda’ to be produced by Anushka Sharma, which would be their second outing after the upcoming movie ‘Phillauri.’

Though director Singh had confirmed that ‘Kaneda’ will feature Dosanjh and Arjun Kapoor, the ‘Udta Punjab’ star neither denied nor confirmed being part of the movie. “Till the time things don’t go on floors, I don’t think about it at all. I am only thinking about my next Hindi release ‘Phillauri’ right now and a Punjabi film that I am doing,” he said.

‘Phillauri’ releases 24th March.
