With the list of biopics coming out of the film industry, Akshay Kumar and Diljit Dosanjh are both gearing up for similar releases this year. Though the stories will be different, worry is that they both revolve around hockey. However, when asked about it Dosanjh was quick to state that there is no need to compare.
“He (Kumar) is a superstar and his work is appreciated by all. People vouch for his commendable work. I, on the other hand, have just started. There can’t be a comparison because he is a star, and I, a fresher,” DNA reports Dosnajh explaining.
Representing ex Hockey captain Sandeep Singh, who thrived against all odd after becoming paralyzed in an accident in Shaad Ali’s ‘Soorma’, Dosanjh went on to speak about how important biopics are. “This trend must last. It is a good thing if it does. People should know about all the people who in some way or the other inspire us. Inspiring stories are needed,” he explained.
Set for release on 13 July, ‘Soorma’ also stars Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi.
Kumar on the other hand will be seen in the more historical ‘Gold, which will hit the big screens on 15th August.
