Diljit Dosanjh as lead in ‘Sardaar Ji 2’ director’s next B-town flick?

Diljit Dosanjh is on the verge of making his Bollywood debut this month in ‘Udta Punjab’. However, it seems apart from Anushka Sharma’s second home production ‘Phillauri’, Dosanjh is likely to bag the lead role in ‘Sardaar Ji 2’ director Rohit Jugraj Chauhan’s next Bollywood directorial.

Chauhan spoke to DNA and confirmed, “I am working with Diljit on a rom-com. This will be my first Bollywood project after a gap of 10 years. I want to make a great comeback. We are planning to cast an A-list Bollywood actress opposite Diljit”.

Chauhan was assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ram Gopal Varma before debuting with ‘James’ in 2005. He feels this gives him a slight edge, “Sanjay sir is someone who will not shoot a scene till the time all the candles are not lit up and RGV is the man, who can covert a blind school in Sarkaar’s house.The two are completely different and working with them made me understand that cinema doesn’t have a fixed language. One has to create their own language to reach out to the people”.

‘Sardaar Ji 2’ releases on 24th June and also stars Monica Gill and Sonam Bajwa.
