Dilip Kumar to celebrate 93rd birthday quietly

Veteran Bollywood star, Dilip Kumar will be celebrating his 93rd birthday on a quiet note on Friday.

His wife Saira Banu confirmed the news to Times of India. She said that the birthday would be a low-key event due to those affected by the Chennai floods.

Banu told Times of India, “We are deeply saddened by the tragedy. We decided not to celebrate Sahab’s birthday at an inopportune time like this. My husband and I had lived in Chennai for a few years after our marriage and the city holds a special place in our hearts. We are also in touch with Suchindra Bali, son of Vyjayanthimala, whose family is based there. Thankfully, the area where they stay hasn’t been hit so badly.”
