Diana Penty on ‘Lucknow Central’: “I like being part of a story based on true events”

Diana Penty will be seen in Farhan Akthar’s next ‘Lucknow Central’, which is based on a true incident. The ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ (2016) actress says she likes being a part of films which are based on real events.

Reported in the Indian Express, Penty will be essaying a role of a NGO and Akthar will be seen playing a prisoner in ‘Lucknow Central’ jail, who forms a band with his fellow inmates. When Nikkhil Advani presented the script to Penty she was extremely excited to be apart of the project.  “I have always wanted to be a part of stories that I have felt strongly about and ‘Lucknow Central’ is one such story. I instantly took to it when Nikkhil Advani (producer) told me about it. Playing Gayatri (her character) after my last release Happy Bhag Jayegi was refreshing. And I like the idea of being part of a story that is based on true events.” Said the ‘Cocktail’ (2012) actress.

For Penty this will be her first film with Akthar and she’s looking forward to working with him. “Farhan is a multi-talented person. I have always had great respect for him as an actor, director, writer, musician and producer. So, it was a great learning experience working with him in ‘Lucknow Central’.

‘Lucknow Central’ is slated to release on 15th September.
