Dia Mirza: “I have the deepest regard & respect for Rajkumar Hirani’s sensibilities”

With much excitement brewing around Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic, Dia Mirza who plays the role of Dutt’s wife Manayata, caught up with the media and spoke about working with the filmmaker.

“I have the deepest regard and respect for his sensibilities, and for the stories, he chooses to tell,” Deccan Chronicle reports the actress expressing.

Reprising the role of Dutt will be Ranbir Kapoor, who Mirza also expressed having a good experience working with. “To work with the team and Ranbir [Kapoor] was deeply gratifying. I got to learn so much. It was one of the most positive work environments,” she explained.

Talking about being of the project, Mirza went on to say, “To be a part of a biopic and essay the life of a real person and to experience the circumstances that they’ve lived in is everything an actor could ever ask for.”

Set for a March release also starring Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Vicky Kaushal and Karishma Tanna, the film has yet to be given a title.
