After a gap of five years, Dia Mirza will be returning to acting with an Indo-Iranian film titled ‘Salaam Mumbai’. The actress says that she will not be allowed to touch her co-star in the film due to censorship in Iranian cinema.

Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Mirza said, “They are honest filmmakers and tell pertinent stories about a culture we are unfamiliar with. We were to start shooting Salaam Mumbai last year but they could come down only in January. It’s fascinating shooting with a crew drawn from India, Los Angeles and France…The women have to wear a hijab and at a time when physical demonstrations of affection are common in Hindi cinema, in this film I cannot touch my co-star. These are things we take for granted here.”

The project is being directed by Iranian directorGhorban Mohammadpour.

Mirza was last seen on the big screen in her own production, ‘Love Breakups Zindagi’ (2011).
