BizAsia reported that the biopic for cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, titled ‘MS Dhoni – The Untold Story’, is facing delays but now, it appears the film may be pushed until next year.
Karan Johar announced the change in release date of ‘Shaandaar’ to the Dussehra date that was initially held by the Dhoni biopic. The film was meant to have been mid-schedule currently but it hasn’t even gone on the floors yet. A source close to the film told Mumbai Mirror, “They had to decide what personal and professional details to incorporate and what to leave out. A certain decorum has to be maintained as Dhoni is still a playing captain and has not retired from the game”.
Arun Pandey of Inspired Entertainment who are co-producing the film also commented, “Yes, it is true that the shooting of the official biopic of M S Dhoni will commence in July. We are fully ready now to roll and start the journey to narrate the inspirational story of the man, the legend, M S Dhoni”.
In the interim, Singh Rajput has grown his hair for the part and undergone training for the role.
A date has not been decided on but it seems the films with arrive in 2016.
