The recent kerfuffle over Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s forthcoming ‘Ram Leela’ was a little surprising and fast-moving. There still hasn’t been official confirmation of Priyanka Chopraas female lead following Kareena Kapoor’s departure. However, designer Anju Modi has given the biggest indication yet of Chopra’s involvement in the project by confirming that she will be designing for the ex Miss World for the film.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Modi said, “We۪ve been in talks since March. Sanjay۪s office called me and I was very impressed by their research. Sanjay and I first met in Mumbai and then we went to Ahmedabad to shop for the film. We went to small shops in narrow gullies to source the material.” She also revealed that Bhansali’s choice in her over Sabyasachi Mukherjee is not something she dwells on and that she is thankful for the opportunity put her way by him.

Although Bhansali hasn’t yet gone on record to reveal the cast details – aside from Ranveer Singh – Modi divulges, “I am designing for Priyanka, Supriya Pathak and to some extent Ranveer Singh. I was supposed to design for Kareena, but now it۪s Priyanka. Both are divas and I۪m equally excited”.
