Delhi High Court exempts Yo Yo Honey Singh from first hearing of domestic violence case

Earlier this month BizAsiaLive.com reported on the domestic violence case filed against Yo Yo Honey Singh by wife Shalini Talwar. Following on from this the couple were due to appear in court for the first hearing, however the singer has now been exempt.

Singh’s lawyer had told Delhi High Court that due to being unwell he is unable to attend. The singer has been asked by the counsel to provide medical records and Income Tax returns and have reminded Singh that he is “not above the law”. The hearing has now been moved to next Friday 3rd September.

Talwar has alleged that her husband has on multiple occasions subjected her to “physical, emotional, mental and verbal abuse” and said that after gaining success in his career he would become “panicked and mercilessly beat her”. Singh has denied all the allegations made against him.
