Deepika to replace Kangana in Anurag Basu’s ‘Imli’?

Anurag Basu is set to wrap up his multi-starrer soon but it’s emerged that his film ‘Imali’ which was meant to star Kangana Ranaut may well now have Deepika Padukone in the lead role.

Times Now reports that Ranaut wasn’t able to accommodate the film. The filmmaker has therefore approached Padukone. He stated, “I cannot confirm till she confirms anything. I did meet her. She has to confirm it to me and then we can confirm it to others”.

On Ranaut’s exit, Basu also said, “We were supposed to start in November but we couldn’t because she got busy with ‘Manikarnika’ and ‘Panga’. Even I got busy with my other film. She wanted to be in good space and time to do this film but things did not work out”.

Padukone will be seen next in ‘Chhapaak’ and she’s also recently been confirmed in Kabir Khan’s ’83’.
