Deepika & Taapsee not in running for Sahir Ludhianvi biopic

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Sahir Ludhianvi biopic has found its leading man in Abhishek Bachchan, but the actress paired with him has still not been finalized.

Initial rumours suggested that Taapsee Pannu may be playing Amrita Pritam in the film, thanks to her and Bachchan’s great chemistry in ‘Manmarziyaan’ (2018). However, the news quickly changed to Deepika Padukone being cast instead. Now, Pinkvilla has reported that neither actress has been officially selected for the role, and Bhansali is yet to confirm a female lead for the film.

Apart from the biopic, Bhansali is juggling two other projects: ‘Gangubai’ starring Priyanka Chopra and ‘Inshallah’ with Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt.
