Deepika & Priyanka set for dance-off in ‘Bajirao Mastani’

Sanjay Leela Bhansali�۪s ��Bajirao Mastani�۪ may be bringing together once again the trio from his last offering ��Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela�۪ but if audiences are expecting any of the similar scenes then they will be mistaken. BizAsia has learnt that lead actresses Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra will reportedly be seen in a dance-off in the film.

In Bhansali�۪s ��Devdas�۪ (2002), Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai were brought together in the song Dole Re. In what will be a dramatic fashion, in ��Bajirao Mastani�۪, Padukone and Chopra will be seen in such scenes but also expressing their feeling in dance form. Padukone plays the lead role of Mastani and Chopra will be seen as Kashibai, they are both women that Peshwa Baji Rao, who Ranveer Singh will be playing, loved.

News has it that Bhansali has re-written the scenes of the film between the two actresses given their stature in the industry. A source is quoted by India Today, ���Kashibai’s role according to SLB’s script was never a walk-over, not even when 8 years ago when Kareena Kapoor was to play Mastani and Rani Mukherjee was to play Kashibai. Now with Deepika and Priyanka playing the two parts, SLB has modified the characters accordingly�۝.

The film is expected to go on the floors in a few months time.
