Deepika Padukone’s ‘Ram Leela’ lehenga weighed 30kgs?

Yes, you’re reading right. BizAsia has heard that the lehenga that Deepika Padukone is pictured in in the first poster of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela’ with Ranveer Singh actually weighed 30kgs.

Designer Anju Modi designed for Padukone in the film, the story of which is set in Gujarat in violent times. As well as keeping with Bhansali’s high demands and standards, the look needed to be modern yet ethnic. In the poster, Padukone is seen in the heavy lehenga but wears a simple green choli for an all-round perfect effect representing a contemporary but traditional Indian Juliet.

‘Ram Leela’ is slated for release on 29th November 2013, as confirmed by Padukone recently on Twitter.
