Deepika Padukone’s latest character more closer to real self

Her performance in ‘Cocktail’ (2012) playing a ruthless, care-free Veronica brought her critical acclaim and now, actress Deepika Padukone has ventured out to play a character completely opposite to that of her last release.

Also staring ex-beau Ranbir Kapoor, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ (2013) it seems like Padukone will be playing a much simpler girl, “Actually ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’��is very similar to me in person like Veronica was not. I think Veronica, as a character, as a person is very different from how I am personally but ‘Yeh Jawaani’…��is very similar to how I am,” the actress was reported saying by NDTV.

This will be the first time Padukone and Kapoor will be seen on screen together ever since their split in 2009. Though the break-up happened after a long relationship the two have remained friends ever since. There were speculations that maybe love would blossom again for the pair during this film, however there was no proof on this.

The Dharma Production film also stars Kalki Koechlin and is set for release on 13th May.
