Deepika Padukone waiting for character-oriented role?

Recently, there was news that Deepika Padukone had upped her fee since ‘Padmaavat’ (2018) and this was proving a little difficult for filmmakers who have approached her for their movies. However, it seems the reason is now being said to be something else.

According to Bombay Times, there was news that her shoulder and neck injury were her main focus and she had therefore not signed another movie yet. However, it’s now being said that she’s waiting for a character-oriented role where the part is as meaty as her male counterpart’s. This is apparently why Padukone has no films in her kitty as it currently stands.

Padukone’s performance in ‘Padmaavat’ was much appreciated and she was paid more than her male co-stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the film.
