Deepika Padukone turns stuntwoman for ‘Race 2’

There have been many actors and actresses of late who opt to do their own stunt scenes minus a body double. Deepika Padukone also made such a decision recently on the sets of the forthcoming ‘Race 2’ in Istanbul.

The sequence was a risky one as a source revealed to Mid-Day, “The particular scene required Dippy, who is known for her athletic build, to drive a car through a heavy traffic-laden road with one of the automobile doors dangling open. Producer Ramesh Taurani advised her to use a body double, as it is the safety norm”.

Taurani also commented, “With an open door it becomes difficult to balance a moving car. But she was upbeat about the whole thing and she ended up practising for 18 hours for this one particular scene. Ultimately she made it look so smooth”.

It was definitely a challenge for Padukone but one she overcame successfully. Hats off to this chick who, it has been proven, is brawn as well as beauty.
