Deepika Padukone to turn singer for ‘Tamasha’?

AR Rahman Tamasha

After Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra turned to singing for their own movies, it may be Deepika Padukone’s turn next. Although there has been no confirmation as of yet, there is speculation that Padukone will be singing a song for Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Tamasha’.

“A R Rahman is one of those music composers who usually gets very involved with the project beyond music and gets along well with actors. Imtiaz and he go a long way back… Imtiaz turned up with Deepika for one of their musical sessions. It was surprising to see the actress accompany him for the meeting,” a source informedAbsolute India.

It can be noted that Imtiaz Ali’s last release, ‘Highway’ (2014), was the film that also marked actress Alia Bhatt’s debut as a playback singer.

‘Tamasha’ will see thereturn of the much-loved onscreen pairing of Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor. The film was earlierslated for a Christmas 2015 release but has now apparently been pushed to 2016.
