Deepika Padukone to play Sita Maiyya in next?

There have been many times where filmmakers have reportedly been wanting to remake ‘Ramayan’ for a contemporary audiences. The latest buzz suggests Deepika Padukone may be in line to play Sita in a forthcoming project, centred on the story from Sita’s perspective.

Alaukik Desai will be directing the film which is apparently titled ‘Sita The Incarnation’. It’s also being reported that Padukone has bagged the role of Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s next.

Padukone will be seen this year in ’83’ which she has co-produced. She’s been shooting for ‘Pathan’ too, which will see her join Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham.
