Deepika Padukone to essay role of Kapil Dev’s wife in ’83’?

It could well be that newlyweds Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are seen sharing screen space earlier than one would have thought. Speculation suggests that Padukone has been approached for a cameo in ’83’, in which Singh will be seen playing Kapil Dev.

It’s thought Padukone has been offered the role of Romi Bhatia, Dev’s wife. Not only that, it seems she’s agreed to the part. A source role Deccan Chronicle, “Her role requires just seven days of shooting. The filmmakers believe the part where Romi Bhatia left the stadium mid-way assuming that West Indies will win the 1983 World Cup final, and the difficulties she encountered in coming back into the stadium when India was on the verge of winning, can be well emoted by Deepika”.

The duo would be marking their first time together after marriage if this goes to plan and no doubt this will be an exciting addition to the cricket film looking at Dev’s life and times.
